Acne Cream Treatment | ProActive Acne Cream

ProActive Acne Cream is probably the most famous acne cream treatment available today, but does it really live up to all its hype?

You’ve been bombarded with commercials telling you how the ProActive acne cream three step system can remove and prevent acne forever, but to be sure, let’s take a closer look at how ProActive works.

The ProActive system is made up of three different acne creams. Each acne cream has a specific function in the system.

Step 1. Renewing Cleanser - The first bottle in the three step acne cream system is the Renewing Cleanser. The cleanser is a white cream with grains that help you scrub the acne cream into your skin. The cleanser is made up of 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, a common ingredient in acne creams.

Benzoyl Peroxide is a skin peeling agent that causes old skin to dry up and peel away while promoting new skin to form underneath. It also is an antibacterial so it kills off harmful bacteria that can cause acne. A common problem with Benzoyl Peroxide is that it irritates skin and causes skin to burn and itch. Usually after a few weeks treated skin forms a tolerance to it.The renewing cleanser is to be applied after rinsing your face. Apply just a pea sized amount and massage the cream into your skin. Once it’s been applied you should rinse off your face and your skin should feel refreshed and smooth.

Step 2. Revitalizing Toner - The next step in the ProActive acne cream treatment is the Revitalizing Toner. There are no active ingredients in this cream. The Toner is used to remove any remaining oil left on the skin. The real reason this cream is used is because it opens up the pores to maximize the affect of the third part of the ProActive system.

Step 3. Repairing Lotion - The final ProActive acne cream lotion is the Repairing Lotion that is similar to the Renewing Cleanser. Both contain 2.5 % Benzoyl Peroxide, but the Renewing Cleanser cleans the top of your skin, while the Repairing Lotion cleans deep inside your pores and kills the bacteria living inside with the help of the Benzoyl Peroxide.

Proactive acne cream treatment isn’t perfect. It doesn’t seem to do anything to remove your current acne, however it does prevent future acne from forming. At $40 per shipment, Proactive is quite expensive compared to other acne products. Another problem with this acne cream treatment is that some people report dry, irritated, and itchy skin after continuous use.

Bottom Line: ProActive acne cream treatment is worth the cost and actually does help prevent acne so long as you use the treatment continuously and as recommended.

Acne Cream Treatment | Acne Cream Differin

Differin is the most popular prescription acne cream treatment available today. However, you may not know that Differin is available as a gel or cream.

Gel vs. Cream
Acne cream Differin is nearly identical to its gel counterpart except that this acne cream treatment is prescribed for people with sensitive skin. Differin gel is made with alcohol, which dries quickly leaving the skin dry and irritated. Differin cream does not contain alcohol and takes much longer to dry leaving the skin moisturized.

What does Acne Cream Differin do?
Acne Cream Differin helps renew skin cells quicker than normal, which prevents pores from becoming clogged. Differin is also an effective acne scars cream because the quicker skin cells renew the quicker scars disappear. The size of blackheads also decreases with the use of acne cream differin, making them less visible.

How to use Acne Cream Differin
- Wash face before bed with soap and water and then dry
- Apply a thin layer of acne cream Differin to face
- Do not apply it to cuts or sun burnt areas
- Avoid applying it to eyes, mouth or mucus membranes
- Wash hands thoroughly when done applying

Mixed opinions
There have been mixed reviews of acne cream Differin. Most people say this acne cream treatment helps, for some it has completely cleared thier acne, and for others it has done nothing. The best way to see how it will affect you is to try acne cream Differin for yourself. Remember, this is a prescription drug so you’ll have to have it prescribed by a doctor. And if it doesn’t work out there are always other treatment available like ProActive Acne Cream.

Acne Cream Treatment | Acne Scars Cream

As if acne wasn’t bad enough! After all those years of suffering with acne you’re now left with the scarring. These acne scars can cause embarrassment and shyness almost as much as the acne itself.

There are a variety of acne cream treatment options for acne scars depending on your skin’s condition. If you have dark and severe acne scars it is recommended that you see a dermatologist for more involved therapy, which could include laser or peeling treatment. However if you have mild acne scars then, an acne scars cream would be the best choice for you.

A word of warning. There are a lot of scar creams available, but don’t just reach for the cheapest acne scars cream you can find. Make sure you do your research on any cream you buy. Don’t waste your time or money on a scars cream that does nothing for you! Luckily, I have a list of a few acne scars creams which have received positive reviews.

ScarGuard MD - Make no mistake, this is an expensive bottle of acne scars cream. A 1 oz. bottle can cost between $50 to $60! However, if you’re willing to pay that amount you’ll be surprised at how effective it works. Within 1 to 4 weeks this acne cream treatment will smoothen out your bumpy scarred and lighten your dark scarred skin.

ScarGuard combines topical silicone, cortisone, and vitamin E to create a scars cream that, if applied twice daily, will improve the appearance of your scars. Scar cream like this one, cover your scar and work to balance the collagen levels in your skin to remove bumps.

DermaNew Classic Microdermabrasion System - Another expensive acne scars cream, that is only available online. The Total Body Experience kit, which comes with everything you need, is $80. DermaNew is an acne cream treatment that works differently than ScarGuard. This acne scars cream actually scraps off old skin and forces new skin to grow in its place by using the foam applicator and various creams. The added benefit to this system is that it also helps prevent new acne from forming, where as ScarGuard is only used for scar removal.

People agree that DermaNew actually works to remove scars, but you have to be careful because you could leave your skin sore and irritated if you take off too much skin at once.

Differin - Acne Cream Differin is useful in preventing and removing acne. It’s one of the most prescribed acne cream treatments today. Most people don’t know that it’s also effective at removing acne scars. At $20 to $30 per tube, it is the cheapest and still effective option of the group. Differin works similar to DermaNew as an acne scars cream. Instead of physically peeling skin away, Differin Chemically peels old skin away.

The Bottom Line: DermaNew and Differin are both useful to remove temporary acne scars that will eventually heal up, but ScarGuard is probably the most powerful of the group. ScarGuards sole purpose is to remove scars. It is the only one that has been shown to smooth out bumpy skin and actually changes skin to its proper color without peeling old skin off.

If you have mild acne or break out only once in a while, then don’t waste your time buying heavy duty prescription medication or other expensive acne cream treatments. If you’ve had an acne breakout and just need something to touch up those nasty blemishes then all you need is a blemish acne cream.

Biore Blemish Double Agent Acne Treatment

Biore Blemish Double Agent Acne Cream - This acne cream treatment is perfect for those small blemishes. It runs on clear and can even be worn under make-up. Biore Double Agent doesn’t leave skin dry. This blemish acne cream can work in one day to remove blemishes. The secret to Biore Blemish acne cream is that it creates a protective layer around your blemish to prevent any dirt or make-up from irritating your skin as it heals. To further prevent irritation, the cream soothes and cools your skin so it doesn’t have that puffy look. Healing time is also reduced because it contains 2% salicylic acid to help exfoliate and remove dead skin cells.
